Rhythm Flow Yoga
Sometimes the classes we create for others begin as something we need ourselves.
After several years of Ironman training, countless miles on the road, and carrying an old high school football wrist injury, my body started asking for something different. I still loved the heat. I still loved the breathing. I still loved almost all of the postures and the way yoga made me feel.
But something wasn’t quite fitting anymore.
I didn’t fully understand what my body was asking for until I stepped into a class outside of our studio and experienced a different approach. The room was warm. The movement was intentional. The postures were familiar. Yet somehow it all felt more balanced.
There were fewer chaturangas. Fewer up dogs. Less wear and tear on the areas that had been asking for relief. Instead, there was more attention placed on the grounded postures. More opportunities to move with curiosity. More chances to explore how a posture felt instead of rushing to achieve a specific shape.
The heat was still there, but because we weren’t holding postures long enough to overheat or fatigue, the experience felt sustainable. The class progressed naturally, never feeling repetitive, while offering opportunities to deepen certain postures when the body felt ready.
I left feeling strong, mobile, and energized. More importantly, I left feeling better. That’s when I realized I probably wasn’t the only one carrying old injuries, sore spots, tight hips, cranky shoulders, stiff backs, or years of life experience into the yoga room.
While our Slow Flow classes already contained some of these elements, it became clear that it was time to evolve and create something new.
Rhythm Flow was born from that realization.
Bridging the gap
One of my biggest hopes for Rhythm Flow is that it creates a bridge.
For those who are newer to yoga, newer to breathing practices, or perhaps a little intimidated by stepping into a heated room, Rhythm Flow offers an accessible entry point. You’ll experience the benefits of heat, movement, breath, and mindful connection without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. My hope is that it helps students build confidence, develop body awareness, and eventually discover they’re capable of far more than they imagined—perhaps even working their way into one of our transformational Hot Vinyasa classes.
At the same time, Rhythm Flow was created for many of our experienced students as well.
If you’re someone who loves flowing, loves movement, and thrives in a strong Vinyasa practice, this class provides an opportunity to recover without feeling like you’re slowing down. It allows the body to restore mobility, explore range of motion, and reconnect to breath while still enjoying the continuous movement that many of us crave.
In many ways, Rhythm Flow lives in the space between recovery and challenge.
It asks you to move, but not force.
To breathe, but not struggle.
To explore, but not perform.
And perhaps most importantly, to listen to what your body needs today rather than what it needed yesterday.
The goal is to create a conversation with your body.

The Power of the Wave
One of the unique elements of Rhythm Flow is what we call “waves.”
At various points during class, you’ll move repeatedly between two or three postures, creating a flowing sequence that allows you to explore range of motion, coordination, breath awareness, and balance.
These waves create opportunities to:
• Improve mobility naturally
• Discover deeper connections within familiar postures
• Customize movements to fit your body on that particular day
• Build confidence through repetition without boredom
• Find a rhythm between effort and ease
Some movements simply feel good when paired with the breath. Rhythm Flow gives you permission to explore those moments more fully.

Is It Replacing Slow Flow?
Maybe. Maybe not. That part depends on you.
We’ve already heard from many students that they love the more static portions of Slow Flow and how those longer holds help develop strength and stabilizing muscles. Those benefits matter, and they’re not being ignored.
In fact, we’re actively exploring another future format that leans even further into those strength-building elements.
Our hope is that instead of trying to make one class do everything, we can create a more complete family of classes that each serve a distinct purpose. One focused on mindful movement and mobility. One focused on strength and stability. Both rooted in breath. Both deeply valuable.
